There is no end to the stories of hardship, sadness, and devastation as a result of the floods that ravaged the Cedar Valley
only one week ago. Go here for the rest of the story!
If it has been in the back of your mind
to offer some assistance for the flood or tornado victims of Iowa but you haven’t really known how you might help I
have a couple of suggestions for you. Penguins Comedy Club was entirely submersed by the flood in Cedar Rapids. The owner would never ask for help but I love that
club and have jumped onto the fundraising efforts begun by The Midnight Swinger, a favorite comedian of mine, to solicit contributions for the repair of our club. If
you can help please click on the Chip In Widget in the middle column. If you would be so kind, any donation,
even $5.00 would be greatly appreciated. Your contribution there would be made knowing that you helped in a way that
was needed for someone you know. Or you could contact our church, Cedar Hills Community Church, and send them a donation to help with their food bank. Sometimes I feel better making a contribution
that is associated with someone that I know and those would be two great places so show you care.
I was commiserating with a friend about the shrinking value of our paychecks,
yesterday. This was brought on mainly by the fact that I had just dropped $126 bucks at a convenience store. Read the rest here.
The three day weekend is over. I’d much prefer if we had three
day work weeks to look forward to several times per year rather than three day weekends. Read the rest here.
White voters who didn’t graduate from college and live in West Virginia;
the Clinton campaign is calling them “hard working” voters. There might be another name for them: Rednecks. Read it here.
I literally
laughed out loud when I opened the advice of our governments answer to stimulate the economy. $42.40 was my joint income
windfall! Go here to see what I did with it!
